Thailand 's Tourist Attractions

          When talking about Phetchabun (346 km from Bangkok), first thing coming to people's mind is its cool climate and impressive scenery. Phetchabun is situated in the southern part of the North of Thailand. Phetchabun is a province noted for sweet tamarinds, Nam Nao National Park, Si Thep Historical Park, Khao Kho Monument and the history of Pho Khun Phamuang.
         Sukhothai (427 km), the first capital of the Thai Kingdom, is known for its historic sites. Sukhothai was the capital of the first kingdom of Siam, flourishing between the mid 13th and mid 14th century AD. The remains of this first kingdom of Siam include masterpieces of the earliest Thai architecture, sculptures, and other art objects. The sites are open daily from 08.30 - 16.30 hours. They are separated into five zones (north, south, east, west, and central) and admission to each is 30 Baht, with the exception of the central zone where the admission fee is 40 Baht. Lampang (599 km) is the sole province in Thailand where horse-drawn carriages are still used as a means of transportation.
         Phrae (643 km) is known for the northern costume called mohom and Phae Muang Phi, a small area of weird earth formation. Lying in the northwestern corner bordering Myanmar. Lamphun (670 km) is a town of beautiful women, bountiful orchards and ancient temples.
         The fine weather, the mountainous scenery, the exquisite handicrafts and the rich northern Thai culture are some of the charms of the Nort Chiang Mai (697 km), the second biggest province of Thailand, provides visitors with a host of places of interest, such as, Doi Suthep, Doi Inthanon, Bhubing Palace, etc.
         Chiang Rai (785 km) is located at the northern tip of Thailand, bordering Myanmar on the north and Laos on the east. Mostly consisting of mountains and forests, its main tourist attractions lies in scenic places, such as Golden Triangle, national parks, botanical gardens, caves and waterfalls.
        Mae Hong Son (942 km) or the Land of Three Mists is located in the northwesternmost part of Thailand, bordering Chiang Mai in the east, Tak in the south, and the Union of Myanmar in the west and north.
