Chinese New Year-Nationwide
Traditional celebrations are staged every Chinese New Year to pay tribute the mythical Golden Dragon - the guardian spirit that has watched over Yawarat for centuries,
and to whom residents of the community believe they owe their good fortune, wealth and prosperity. The Golden Dragon is thus accorded an exalted status in ritual, as
well as in everyday life.
Red is considered to be an auspicious colour-a symbol of happiness and good luck
so the appropriate dress code for the Chinese New Year celebrations is red.
Chiangmai Flowers Festival-Chiang Mai
The north of Thailand has a rich variety of flowering plants. Spectacular beatiful florals are the memorable feature of this 3-day festival in Chiang Mai also known as the "Rose of the North". Celebrated with floral floats parading the streets as well as flower displays, beauty pageants and
handicraft sales to enjoy. There will be exhibitions of flowers and potted plants, sale of agricultural products, OTOP merchandise, tea and coffee.
Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony-Trang
The Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony was held for the first time on Valentine's Day 2000, jointly organized by Trang Province, the national carrier Thai Airways International and the local Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural Millennium Underwater Wedding Ceremony in Trang with 30 participants
from 28 countries set a new Guinness World Record. Through the extensive worldwide media coverage received by the event, the amazing feat attracted much international attention. Footage of the underwater wedding extravaganza was seen on the international television networks as well as in print media.
To be eligible, couples, relatives and guests taking part in the event are required to be certified divers. Married couples who wish to renew their vows in an extraordinary but memorable fashion are also eligible.

Khantok Chang Festival-Lampang Province
The Khantok Chang Fair is held at the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre every year on the first weekend of February. In this event, elephants are feasted with an assortment of their favourite fruits and vegetables served on a big northern style food tray called "Tok". Talent shows from the elephants are
also part of the activities.
Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Fair-Around Leng Chu Kiang Shrine, Muang District, Pattani
Among the Chinese and families of Chinese descent, the Goddess Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao is a highly revered. During the Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao Fair, a procession is held 15 days after the Chinese New Year in honour of the deity.
Annual Kalasin Prae Wa Silk Festival-Kalasin Province
The intricate and colourful designs of Prae Wa - the 'queen of silks' makes this fabric, the most exquisite and most famous of all of the handicrafts of Kalasin Province. The fabric is woven by the 'Phu Thai' settlers, descendants of Vietnamese immigrants from Meung Taeng.
