Hua Hin Elephant Polo Tournament
The sport of elephant polo was founded in Nepal in the year 1982 and it was extended to Thailand in 2001. It was adapted from equestrian polo. It has the potential for becoming a popular sport in Thailand because this country has numerous gifted mahouts who can easily train elephants to play polo.
Annually, an elephant polo tournament will be held at the Somdet Phra Suriyothai grounds in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. On the morning of the competition day, there is a ceremony of blessing the elephants. It is believed that there are at least five guardian spirits residing in each elephant. After the blessing ceremony is completed, the elephant parade began. The competitors and their elephants form a long line of procession marching along the ground.
This popular event takes place in September each year and is often cheered on by members of the Thai Royal Family. The tournament regularly features teams from around the globe, who compete for the prestigious Kings Cup.
Some of the world’s top polo players compete alongside enthusiastic amateurs, including former international rugby players, in this competitive but fun 16 team event. The tournament was won last year by the Chivas Regal team from Scotland, led by the Duke of Argyll. The Duke has subsequently requested that the sport be granted full Olympic status!
Hua Hin International Cricket Sixes
This five day tournament takes place in April each year and is held in the grounds of the Dusit Resort. Each year teams comprising of former test stars, celebrities and locals arrive from all over the world to compete in this fun event. Former cricket stars such as Mike Gatting and Alan Lamb have competed in the past and the famous Melbourne Cricket Club have won the event on a number of occasions.

Hua Hin Jazz Festival
The Hua Hin Jazz Festival is another great event annually arranged in June. It is expected to draw thousands of local and overseas visitors to enjoy local and international artists and bands rotating their performances between 2 stages in central downtown. Throughout the festival there are other activities including jazz workshops, local food stalls and product sales. Also, there will be games and lucky draws with fun for all the family. Jazz enthusiasts from all over Thailand arrive in town to take in a variety of international artists and bands that play in various local venues over a three day period. The shows are completely free and the festival is successfully attracting bigger names and larger audiences each year.

Hua Hin International Kite Festival (Annual event in March)
With each subsequent year, the Hua Hin International Kite Festival attracts an ever-growing number of devoted kite fans, participants and spectators, from all over Thailand as well as from countries around the region, and beyond. The colorful kite festival thus presents a golden opportunity for visitors to savor the international flavor of kite culture in a single trip.

Hua Hin Food Festival
This annual event gives local chefs and hoteliers a chance to show off their culinary skills. Held at the end of November this week long festival gives visitors a chance to sample some of the exquisite cuisine available in the region including, arguably, some of the finest seafood in the world.

Hua Hin Vintage Car Rally December 2006 (Annual)
