Getting there to Hua Hin

      By car: Drive for about 3 hours along Highway No. 35 (Thon Buri-Pak Tho) passing Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram Provinces and then take Highway No. 4 to Hua Hin Total distance is approximately 180 kilometers. Alternatively, another route might otherwise be taken from Bangkok via Buddhamonthon, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan, a total distance of 220 kilometres.    

      By Air: Bangkok Airways has resumed daily flights to and from Bangkok's Don Muang International Airport to Hua Hin and charters from Hong Kong and Singapore are being discussed. Bangkok Airways Hua Hin Office, 114/7 Petchkasem Rd, Tel: (032) 512-083.
      

      By Bus: Air-conditioned buses leave the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok every 30 minutes between 5:00AM and 22:00PM for Hua Hin. The journey takes about 3 hours and costs 128 Baht. The air-conditioned bus terminal in Hua Hin is at the Siripetchkasem Hotel on Srasong Rd, near Dechanuchit Rd, and buses leave for Bangkok every 40 minutes daily between 3:00AM and 21:00PM.       There are also nightly air buses to other cities in southern Thailand. Most depart Hua Hin around 22:00PM. There are also non air-conditioned buses which travel between the market on Srasong Road in Hua Hin and the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok around the clock and take 4 hours.       

      By Train: There are several trains daily from Bangkok which stops in Hua Hin on their way south. Most leave Bangkok in the early to late afternoon and arrive in Hua Hin about fours later. A 2nd class seat on an air-conditioned Express train may be purchased up to 90 days in advance at main railway stations. Tel: Hua Hin Station Office, Damnoenkasem Rd.         By Van: Major hotels such as the Dusit and Sofitel have daily vans from their hotels in Bangkok to their hotels in Hua Hin. These usually leave Bangkok after lunch and take about 2.5 hours to reach Hua Hin.          

        By Taxi : Some Bangkok taxis will travel to Hua Hin. The trip takes about 2.5 hours and allows you to see a bit of the countryside if your time in the Kingdom is limited. These taxis are best arranged at the Don Muang airport or by your hotel in Bangkok.

        Travel Agents : Travel agents in Thailand and around the world offer packages to Hua Hin. These can be golf tours complete with green fees, transportation, and caddies or group tours for families or couples. If you prefer one-stop shopping, contact your local agent. Should you like to explore a bit more, above are ways of reaching Hua Hin from Bangkok.
        In addition, especially for golfers and those coming for only a few days, the larger hotels often have golf packages and/or weekday specials, with prices especially low during the off season between January and October.
        In many cases in Thailand, agents can often provide lower rates than hotel clerks or airline reservation offices. It's always best to check around and compare prices and services if you're looking for a deal.  Check it out for some good deals !!!

Getting Around Hua Hin

         Getting around Hua Hin is very easy. The best way to travel is either by motorbike taxi or by Tuk Tuk. Remember to negotiate the price before traveling. Alternatively you can hire a car or a motorbike. There are no metered taxis in town. If you do hire a car or motorbike ensures that you have adequate insurance cover. The Police in Hua Hin are very strict when it comes to enforcing the compulsory wearing of crash helmets – wear one if you want to avoid being stopped and fined, which could also include a trip to the Police Station. In Thailand you drive on the left, but beware traffic turning left does not have to wait at junctions and tends to move out regardless of what is approaching. Also watch out for motorbikes driving on the wrong side of the road.

        Mini bus: Mini bus services from the outskirts of Hua Hin to Khao Takiap from 06.00 - 18.00 hours. The minibus terminal is situated at the intersection of Sasong Road and Damnoen Kasem Road.  

        Songthaeo : Songthaeo (with one long bench on either side) services from Hua Hin to Pa La-U from 06.00 to 08.00 hours at 20-min intervals and from Hua Hin to Pranburi Intersection from 07.00 to 17.00 hours at 20-60 min intervals. You can take a Songthaeo at the station at the intersection of Chomsin Road and Phetkasem Road. Passengers can also hire tricycles or motor tricycles (Tuk Tuk) to go sightseeing around Hua Hin town.
