     Hua Hin can lay claim to being Thailand's oldest beach resort. This status dates from 1926 when King Rama VII built a beachside palace named Klai Kangwon (which means Far From Worries). It was built in Spanish-style-architecture with a facade overlooking the sea. The present monarch, King Bhumipol, often is in residence here, hence the presence of Royal warships normally anchored offshore. The Thai royal family still customarily spend the hottest months of the year, generally March through April, there. Many prominent Bangkok families maintain beachside villas. Hua Hin boasted Thailand's first golf course (still in use as the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course after some 70 years) and the resort continues to exude, despite modernization, a genteele fin de siecle atmosphere.At the northern edge of HuaHin, it is where   His Majesty the King Bhumibol  now spends a great deal of time.  The Royal Waiting room The Hua Hin railway station is one of the oldest in Thaialnd and its most striking feature is the unique, Thai style Royal Waiting Room. This waiting room was moved from Sanam Chan to Hua Hin during the reign of King Vajiravudh, Rama VI.

Hua Hin Beach offers safe swimming most of the year round with the sand gently sloping into the water. The backdrop of green hills, pineapple and rice fields make Hua Hin a beautiful place to stay and explore. Fine white sand, resort hotels, many watersports opportunities fame and popularity and continues to delight visitors of all ages.

Hua Hin Night Market is definitely Hua Hin's most colorful nightly attraction. Every evening throngs of visitors stroll around and enjoy a diversity of Thai food, including seafood dishes freshly prepared at the many food stalls. In addition to these culinary delights there are many stalls offering visitors a wide array of souvenirs.

Khao Takiab or Chopsticks Hill (Vantage point) is marking the southern extent of Hua Hin. As you approach you will see a large statue of the Buddha clinging to the cliffs, overlooking the sea, along with a sprawling temple on top of the hill. Once on top one can see the Hua Hin coast and Hua Hin downtown, offering a commanding view of the town, particularly early in the morning.

Haad Khao Tao/Sai Noi Beach, small beach, is at the foot of Khao Tao Hill about 13 kilometers south of Hua Hin on the Petchakasem Road. Between the Km 243 and 244 markers, there is a branch road which leads to a scenic lake, and a beautiful beach name Sai Noi. . It is another tranquil spot, with a large Buddha image facing the sea.

Sarn Phra Phrom Shrine was built over 60 years on Khao Mahachai hill about 5 km south of Hua Hin. It has recently been restored by Dr. Phutsadee Jitchum and was finished in 1999. The shrine has a style that may be used to teach the Buddhist doctrine. For example, the surrounding heart-shaped fence symboloize kindheartedness. The shrine is open daily for believers to pay homage.

Khao Krailart, the steep hill, is located near Mount Khao Takiab and lends its name to the temple located at the summit. The temple, belonging to a Buddhist denomination founded by King Mongkut, contains a collection of large Buddha images several hundred years old and is open to visitors.

Haad Suan Son Pradiphat Beach The beatiful stretch of beach, 9 kilometers south of Hua Hin, gets its name from the Causuarina trees (son) growing along the shore.

Kho Sing Toh Island is about 800 meters offshore from Suan Son Beach, and is very popular with fishermen and divers. It can be reached by boat, available for rent at Khao Takiab Village.

Mount Khao Hin Lek Fai (Watch the Sunrise), located 3 kilometers west of Hua Hin, is a vantage point with three different vista to the beauty of the town and Hua Hin bay. The best time to appreciate the vistas is at sunrise. At the site there is a statue of King Prajadhipok, Rama VII.

Phraya Nakorn Cave is found about 35 kilometers south of Hua Hin. The cave is named after one of the Governors of Prachaub Khiri Khan who sheltered here for several days during the rainstorms. It is a spectacular cave which houses a beautiful pavilion inside, constructed at the command of King Rama V who visited the site around 1890.

Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park According to legend Chinese traders frequently used this part of the coast, which is dotted with many small islands. One day a junk was shipwrecked and all 300 hands onboard were forced to swim ashore, giving rise to the name "Sam Roi Rod" meaning "300 were saved." Subsequently the name was changed to "Sam Roi Yod" or "300 mountain peaks" a name more in keeping with the many rugged limestone hills that define the local topography. And it is the first national park established on the seashore and cover about 98 sq.km., most of the sun-district of Ging Amphur Sam Roi Yod. The area features an intricate network of water-ways and open plains which, because of frequent flooding, gives rise to rich marshlands where plants and wild life abound. As a result, visitors may see an abundance of vegetation, reptiles and mammals including southern langurs, serows and Asian goats. This habitat is also an excellent site for bird watching as over 300 resident and migratory species may be found here. The Park Headquarters will provide information about the various activities within the park as well as available accommodation. There is also a good selection of slides and videos available for tourists.

Khao Daeng Hill & Khao Daeng Canal Not far from the park headquaters, there is Khao Daeng Hill, a 500-meter high vantage point with an excellent view of the park, as well as the Khao Daeng Canal, with its many tributaries that traverse the landscape. It is well worth the climb, especially at dawn, to see the spectacular effect as the sun rises over the horizon. It is also possible to go rafting on the Khao Daeng Canal, which allows visitors to get a close up view of the animals living in the forest at the edge of the mangrove swamps.

Ban Bang Pu is a typically fishing village with traditional houses, located close to the temple Wat Ban Bang Pu. You can moor your boat here when visiting Cape Om Laem Tien and Had Laem Sala Beach.

Haad Laem Sala Beach is about 16 kilometers from the park headquaters. This long, white sand beach has a campsite (with tents for rent if you do not have your own.), guesthouses and restaurant facilities. A trail from the beach leads to the trail up Khao Tien Hill to the Tam Phraya Nakhon Cave. King Rama V visited this site and in 1890 had a pavilion "Phra Thi Nang Khuha Kharuhad" built in the cave. It is said that when sunlight shines through on opening in the ceiling and lights the pavilion there is no more beautiful cave in Prachuab Khiri Khan.

Haad Sam Phraya Beach is a tranquil sandy beach about 3.5 km from the park headquaters. There is a mudflat at the southern end of the beach, which is an excellent site for ornithologists. The best observation period is as the tide goes out in the early evening from October to March, when many species of migratory bird are present.

Rong Je Another excellent site for bird-watching is at Rong Je, about 6 kilometers inland from Petchakasem Road. This marsh has a high diversity of aquatic plants, making an outstanding habitat for both resident and migratory bird species. It is a preferred breeding site for many aquatic birds such as guillemots. The highest species diversity occurs from October to March when the migratory birds are in residence.

Khao Khan Kradai Bird Observation Point, about 3 kilometers from the Forestry Department Border Checkpoint at Ban Phu Noi, is a must for naturalists interested in observing seabirds. One can cover about 5 kilometers of the habitat by punt. Dawn and dusk are the best tunes to visit this site.

Tham Kaew is a cave within the Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park, about 2 kilometers from Bang Pu. There are many large transparent stalagmites and stalactites and when struck by light they sparkle like crystal. Another impressive display of stalagmites and stalactites may be seen in the Tham Sai cave, located about 9 kilometers from the park headquaters. However, the narrow steep paths cover rough terrain and as these cave have no artificial lighting visitors are advised to bring flashlights and to use park staff as guides. Nam Tok Pa-La-U is a beautiful 15-tiered waterfall is in the middle of rich and fertile virgin forest, about 60 kilometers west of Hua Hin town center, literally right next to the Burmese border. The area is under the supervision of Kaeng Krachan National Park, and water cascades down the falls throughout the year. Normally many butterflies can be seen here, although the best time to visit is early in the morning from 7.00 am, when the air is still fresh and cool. It is also possible to spot wild animals including elephants and several species of rare birdlife such as hornbills. Villagers from Baan Huay Sad Yai will be happy to guide people interested in tracking herds of wild elephants or taking nature walks. Anyone interested in such activities should contact the village association in advance. Pranburi Pak Reserve (located about 15 kilometers south of Hua Hin) is set in the strip of land connection Hua Hin and Pranburi. It can be reached by following the route into Khao Tao. Once inside the parkland there is a wooden bridge, on which stands a noticeboard offering valuable information about the eco-system of the mangrove swamps.

The Venerable "Luang Pho Tuad" Elected at Wat Huay Mongkol Tumbon Tab Tai, Amphur Hua Hin, it can be reached from Hua Hin by travelling about 14 kilometers along highway 3219, the Nong Phab Pa-La-U Road. Petchaburi Summer Palace is one of the oldest provinces in Thailand & any trip into Petchaburi should include a stop at the 100 year old temple of Wat Kamphaeng Laeng at Phra nai khon khiri. The palace can be accessed by cable car to see the beautiful summer palace of King Rama VI, also the setting for the famous movie "The King & I". On view are many items of Royal Heritage and an expansive view from the Observatory.

Maruekkhathayawan Palace is one of the oldest and most attractive royal palaces in Thailand, located 14 kilometers north of Chiva-Som. The palace was constructed at the command of King Rama VI in 1923 as his holiday residence. It was entirely made of teak and was fashioned in Thai-Victorian style. The palace is normally a very quiet place where one is free to wander t hrough stopping to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and cool sea breezes.

Rashnee Thai Silk Village Hua Hin It is a rare chance to get to know about Thai Silk, situated at Naebkehas Road on natural surrounding. Visitors will get to see a rural village where traditional weavers display their art of weaving different kinds of Thai Silk such as Mudmee silk, Phrae Wa silk etc. Other accessory handcrafts from silk are also avilable.

Hua Hin Elephant Village Elephant riding until the introduction of railways and automobiles, travel by elephant, especially in rural areas, was a safe, efficient and sensible method of transport, as well as having the ability to assist in agriculture and forestry. An elephant with passengers can travel over any terrain, however steep and treacherous. Today guests can experience the sensation of elephant riding at several locations near Hua Hin.

Hua Hin Railway was built in the reign of King Rama VI in order to welcome the King and his entourage. The architecture of the Royal Pavilion is a feature of the station; it was originally named as Plub Pla Sanamchan, and it was initially situated at Sanamchan Palace in Nakorn Pathom Province. This train station is an attractive site behind which Thailand’s first golf course – Royal Hua Hin lies. Golf Course Golfing opportunities abound in Cha-am and Hua Hin. Indeed, golf is the major sport aside from popular watersports. Some of the courses are well established. Others are recent creations, several having been specially designed by internationally renowned golfers.
